EXORDIUM 3.0, the third edition of the annual flagship event of the IEEE Student Branch GEC Barton Hill,Trivandrum was a three-day offline event that successfully brought together students from GEC Barton Hill and several other colleges. The event featured a vibrant mix of technical workshops and enriching activities aimed at enhancing technical, managerial, and collaborative skills.
EXORDIUM 2.0
On 25th October 2024, the event commenced with an inaugural function. The inaugural session began with the recitation of the IEEE Code of Ethics by Kedar Kamalraj, Vice Chair of IEEE SB GEC Barton Hill, followed by a welcome address delivered by Neha Nazreena Anwer, Treasurer of IEEE SB GEC Barton Hill. The presidential address was delivered by Dr. Shamna H R, Branch Counselor of IEEE SB GEC Barton Hill, who praised the Student Branch for organizing this impactful event. The inaugural address was presented by Ms. Sarada Jayakrishnan, Past Chair of IEEE Kerala Section, who congratulated the organizing committee for their efforts and commended the active participation of students in IEEE activities.
During the felicitation segment, Prof. Josna V R , Chapter Advisor of IEEE SIGHT and AP-S GECBH, was honored for her outstanding support and contributions to the growth of the branch. The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks by Athira L, Joint Secretary of IEEE SB GEC Barton Hill, who expressed her gratitude to the dignitaries, participants, and volunteers. The first day concluded with Euphoria, a vibrant musical night by the college band.
The second day of the event, 26th October 2024, featured two key workshops: one on software development and another on hardware design. In addition to these workshops, each IEEE Student Branch Chapter conducted several technical events, including Judgement Day by the Computer Society, Chrono Quest by the Robotics and Automation Society, Code Relay by Women in Engineering, Typathon by SIGHT, and Cognitive Venture by AP-S and MTT-S.
The valedictory session of EXORDIUM 3.0 began with a warm welcome address by Ms. Abhirami P, Secretary of IEEE SB GEC Barton Hill, who greeted all attendees and set the tone for the concluding session. Dr. Chinmoy Saha, Coordinator of IEEE MTT-S Region 10, delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the significance of EXORDIUM 3.0 in promoting technical development and collaboration among students from various institutions.Felicitation speeches were delivered by Dr. Apren T J, Chair of IEEE MTT-S Kerala Section, Dr. Manoj B S, Chair of IEEE RFID Council Kerala Section, and Dr. Shamna H R, Branch Counselor of IEEE SB GEC Barton Hill, Trivandrum. The event proceeded with an award distribution ceremony, recognizing the winners of various competitions and activities for their outstanding achievements. Mr. Devanarayanan S V, Chair of IEEE SB GEC Barton Hill, provided an overview of the event, underscoring the success of the workshops and competitions. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Kedar Kamalraj, Vice Chair of IEEE SB GEC Barton Hill, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in making EXORDIUM 3.0 a remarkable success.
The event officially concluded on 2nd November 2024 with an industrial visit to the Kerala Biodiversity Museum and the Kerala Science and Technology Museum. EXORDIUM 3.0 was an outstanding event, offering students a platform to enhance their technical knowledge, develop critical skills, and connect with peers across the region. The event not only showcased the participant's technical expertise but also cultivated a sense of community within IEEE, reaffirming its mission to advance technology for humanity.
